What is Glasses Glare Detector?
Glasses Glare Detector is a mode in QuickServer that checks each photo for glasses glare and flags it without removing it. The detector runs locally (on-prem) on your computer. When glare is found, QuickServer records it to the logs and, optionally, moves the affected photo to a separate folder. All of your other Perfectly Clear corrections continue to run as normal.

This mode is useful if you want to remove the detected glares manually or by feeding it into other solutions that meet your needs.

How is this different from Glasses Glare Removal?
Glasses Glare Removal (in the Cloud tools) actively detects – and, if found – corrects the glare in the image. The Glasses Glare Detector only detects it. It identifies and reports photos that contain glare but leaves the glare in place.

The toggle is greyed out and I can’t switch it on. Why?
The Glasses Glare Detector is a licensed feature. To use it, reach out to your Solutions Architect.

Where can I see which photos had glare detected?
Every detection is written to the channel log file in the form: “Glare is detected for ‘path_to_the_file’“. This is logged regardless of your logging level, so detections are always captured.

Can I collect the flagged photos in one place?
Yes. Turn on “Save detected images into subfolder” and specify a destination. By default this is a subfolder inside your output folder.

Does detection change how my photos are processed?
No. Photos with detected glare are processed exactly like photos without glare, according to your normal channel settings.

Can I run the Detector and Glasses Glare Removal at the same time?
No, the two modes can’t operate together in the same channel. If you turn on the Detector, Removal is disabled (and vice versa), and QuickServer will prompt you to turn off the conflicting tool.
